Each year, the Jesse Isabelle Spirit Award is presented to a student at Perkins School for the Blind who embodies the vibrant spirit and kindness that Jesse Isabelle cherished. We are thrilled to announce that the 2024 recipient of this award is Isabelle Keller.
Isabelle’s nomination for the Jesse Isabelle Spirit Award is a testament to her exceptional friendliness, positivity, and warmth. Known affectionately as the “mayor” of the Lower School, Isabelle has a unique ability to connect with everyone she meets. Her gracious nature and delightful sense of humor make her a beloved figure among students and staff alike.
Isabelle’s kindness shines through in her interactions with her peers – she greets each person with a smile, welcomes new students with fun nicknames, and is a constant source of encouragement and joy. Her enthusiasm for the weekly Dance Party reflects her infectious spirit.
Following the awards ceremony, Carol Lawrence continued the tradition of visiting Wild Willeys, Jesse’s favorite spot. Jesse’s tree at Perkins School for the Blind stands tall and beautiful, a fitting tribute to his legacy.
Congratulations to Isabelle Keller on receiving the 2024 Jesse Isabelle Spirit Award. Your vibrant spirit and warm heart truly embody the essence of this honor.
